Whitby-Oshawa byelection has ‘None of the Above’ options

Sheldon Bergson changed his last name to Znoneofthe. First name, Above.

He was planning to run in the federal election because he was disenchanted with Stephen Harper’s Conservative government.

He admits to seeing the movie Brewster’s Millions, where a political neophyte runs for mayor of New York in a protest campaign that urges people to vote for None of the Above.

If you’re a voter in the Feb. 11 Whitby-Oshawa byelection and you’re dissatisfied with the status quo in Ontario politics, I have a better way for you to protest than not voting or declining your ballot.

Not voting gives silent consent to the current system.

Canada will miss its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets until it invests in new energy technologies, not just a favoured few.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the premiers will be putting on their green-coloured glasses for their upcoming first ministers’ meeting on Monday, a week before the start of the United Nations’ climate-change conference in Paris.
