Tim James
Scarborough-Rouge Park MPP Candidate
Tim James was born in Scarborough and has spent 30 plus years of his life living in the Scarborough-Rouge Park area. Tim has been a high school teacher, guidance counselor, and vice principal at numerous Scarborough schools for the past 17 years. He has obtained a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Philosophy/Mathematics from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science degree in education and educational research from Daemen College, New York.
Throughout his career in education, Tim has always focused on determining whose voices are not at the table when making decisions that impact the school community and ensuring that those voices are heard. Fittingly, Tim has found it problematic that voter turnout in Ontario has been steadily declining over the past four decades. Despite a modest increase in 2014 and 2018, voter turnout again declined in 2022. Some 55% of Ontario voters chose not to vote and hence were not heard. This must change! Our current “majority” government won the election with the endorsement of less than 18 percent of eligible voters, an all time low in Ontario. This speaks volumes about voter dissatisfaction with the current political establishment. In a healthy democracy, a government requires a much higher mandate for true legitimacy, for true civil representation.
A vote for Tim and the None of the Above Direct Democracy Party is a statement, a demand for change and something better. It stands for direct influence in our provincial parliament for constituents. It advocates for improvements to our electoral system, governing for the people and not based on partisan politics and above all, it promotes accountability. On February 27, vote for Tim James and the None of the Above Party.
